CMM Inspector – Night Shift | Precision Engineering | Wolverhampton We\’re working with a leading precision engineering business that supplies into high-performance sectors including Motorsport, Automotive, and Defence. They\’re currently looking for an experienced CMM Inspector to join their night shift team at their Wolverhampton facility. Location: Wolverhampton Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent Shift Pattern: Night Shift Salary: Competitive + shift allowance About the Role This is a key quality assurance role within a fast-paced precision machining environment. You\’ll be responsible for inspecting complex components using CMMs (Aberlink software) and a range of manual measuring tools. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of GD&T, be confident generating inspection reports, and capable of working closely with engineering teams to ensure compliance with customer specifications. Key Responsibilities Perform dimensional and visual inspection of machined components using CMMs and manual tools (verniers, micrometers, gauges, etc.). Program and operate CMM equipment using Aberlink software. Interpret technical drawings and geometric tolerances. Work with a variety of materials including aluminium, steel, castings, and more. Generate and maintain inspection documentation including ISIRs, FAIRs, and Certificates of Conformity. Identify and report non-conformances, raising concessions where necessary. Ensure compliance with internal quality standards and customer requirements. What We\’re Looking For Essential: Proven experience in CMM inspection within a precision engineering environment. Proficiency with Aberlink software. Ability to read and interpret technical engineering drawings and GD&T. Skilled in using manual inspection tools. Strong documentation and reporting skills.Desirable: Experience generating CMM programs. Familiarity with FAIRs and ISIRs. Manual handling and lifting equipment training (can be provided if needed).
