Job Title: Electrician Salary: Up to £36,130 per annum Job Family: Facilities Work Base: Cambridge Hours of Work: Full time, 37 hours per week Responsible to: Asset Manager Responsible for: No direct line management responsibility Purpose of Job: Provide both reactive and planned maintenance for electrical systems, ensuring the built environment is maintained to deliver a positive student experience, client satisfaction, and value for money. Carry out installations, report faults and problems, and provide general support as directed. Main Responsibilities: Understand the function of electrical systems and equipment to make repairs, adjustments, and fault find. Perform regular routine maintenance on electrical systems, including lighting, power distribution, and control systems. Carry out alterations and improvements to electrical systems and equipment. Conduct electrical installations and ensure compliance with relevant codes of practice. Perform electrical testing and inspection, including Portable Appliance Testing (P.A.T.). Work collaboratively with other trades within the department to deliver the service as a team, within set time limits. Attend courses and lectures as directed by the Supervisor or Works management to update knowledge and skills, including Health and Safety. Cover/stand in for other members of staff who may be absent as directed. Additional attendance may be required to respond to emergencies outside normal working hours on a rota basis, and overtime may be required to ensure all jobs/tasks are completed.
