We are working in partnership with a leading UK provider of building maintenance, refurbishment and retrofit services, to recruit a Quantity Surveyor for a growing retrofit team based in Cardiff. This is an excellent opportunity to join a contractor delivering large-scale social housing and public sector programmes across Wales. With a strong pipeline of work and ambitious growth plans, this role offers long-term stability, progression, and involvement in meaningful projects that improve homes and communities.
As Quantity Surveyor, you will play a key role in the commercial management of retrofit and planned works contracts, ensuring robust financial control, strong governance, and profitable delivery.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Full commercial management of allocated contracts, including budgets, forecasts, and profitability
- Development and management of contract cost plans and financial reporting
- Managing client and subcontractor relationships, attending and leading meetings where required
- Measurement of works, valuations, cost/value reconciliations and final account submissions
- Administration and performance monitoring of subcontractors in line with SOPs
- Processing subcontractor payments and managing valuation accounts
- Managing variations and ensuring all parties are kept informed of cost changes
- Monthly cost/value reporting and cash-flow management
- Working with Schedules of Rates (SORs) to value works undertaken
This role would suit a Quantity Surveyor with a HNC / HND or degree in a construction-related discipline. You will have proven Quantity Surveying experience ideally within social housing or public sector environments. In return, you will receive a competitive salary up to £50,000 and a car allowance plus benefits.
