REED is delighted to be partnered with our client, an innovative and forward thinking business based in Craigavon, in the appointment of a full-time Assistant Accountant to join their finance team. As the Assistant Accountant you will be working very closely with the Company Accountant, providing accurate and timely accounts to management and the wider team. They are seeking an enthusiastic individual, with great communication skills, a willingness to learn, strong technical abilities in accounting and reporting, as well as excellent skills in Excel and ERP software.

Role & responsibilities:

  • Assisting with month end management accounts in a timely and accurate manner
  • Assisting with Profit & Loss Accounts and Balance Sheet reconciliation
  • Supporting with year-end audit
  • Preparing VAT returns
  • Bank reconciliation
  • Purchase ledger, sales ledger and nominal ledger
  • Assisting with payroll
  • Working as part of a team of 4 within accounts

The successful candidate will meet the following criteria:

  • Be a fully qualified Accounting Technician or Part Qualified Accountant
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Excel and ERP software
  • Experience in closing month end reporting
  • Ability to work independently when required and take ownership of responsibilities
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
  • Strong organisational skills, time management and working towards tight deadlines
