Our client is a leader in architectural metal and glass solutions, and we are looking for a Senior Designer. This full-time, hybrid role offers the flexibility of combining office and home working. You will be instrumental in producing detailed, accurate technical drawings and ensuring design integrity from concept through to manufacture and site installation.
Day-to-day responsibilities:
- Take full ownership of design packages for architectural metal and glass systems, including balustrades, balconies, staircases, and bespoke metalwork.
- Produce detailed technical, construction, and fabrication drawings.
- Collaborate closely with clients during pre-construction and live project stages to align design objectives.
- Coordinate with project, fabrication, and installation teams throughout the project lifecycle.
- Maintain design integrity and ensure compliance with UK Building Regulations, fire safety, and relevant standards.
- Manage design and installation risks, proposing innovative and buildable solutions.
- Support technical submissions, respond to RFIs, and participate in design reviews.
- Attend design meetings, technical workshops, and site visits as required.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of design standards and processes.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Senior Designer within architectural metalwork, glass, or façade-related design.
- Proficiency in 2D & 3D design software.
- Strong understanding of safety standards, compliance, and fire remediation practices.
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills with clients, internal teams, and external stakeholders.
- Ability to manage complex design challenges and deliver practical, compliant, and creative solutions.
- Degree in Architecture, Engineering, Design, or a related field preferred.
