Are you a hands-on leader with a passion for plant maintenance and team development? A well-established hire and maintenance company is seeking a Workshop Manager to take ownership of workshop operations and lead a skilled team of Fitters and Yard Staff. This role involves overseeing equipment maintenance, ensuring readiness for hire, and maintaining compliance with industry standards. You will be responsible for planning workloads, managing workshop stock, and fostering a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, manage, and develop workshop and yard teams.
- Schedule and oversee planned maintenance activities including inspections and repairs.
- Ensure timely turnaround of equipment to meet operational demand.
- Maintain effective stock control and ordering processes.
- Promote safety, quality, and continuous improvement across the team.
- Coordinate with senior operations to maximize fleet availability.
- Act as deputy for the Depot Manager when required.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Level 2 or 3 qualification in Plant Maintenance (or equivalent).
- Strong knowledge of plant equipment and maintenance techniques.
- Proven leadership experience in a workshop environment.

- Organised, IT-literate, and confident using workshop systems.
- Full UK driving licence (maximum 3 points).
