A great opportunity has arisen for a skilled CNC Machinist to join a leading supplier to the Oil & Gas, Aerospace and Defence industries.

Job Description:

  • Interpret technical drawings and job packs to set up CNC machines
  • Program and operate CNC lathes and milling machines (Fanuc, Siemens controls)
  • Perform first-off inspections and maintain quality throughout production
  • Adjust offsets and tooling to optimize cycle times and reduce waste
  • Conduct routine machine maintenance and adhere to health & safety protocols
  • Collaborate with engineers to improve processes and efficiency

Beneficial Skills / Qualifications:

  • Time-served or NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering
  • Proven experience as a CNC Setter/Operator (multi-axis preferred)
  • Ability to read and interpret complex CAD drawings
  • Experience with various metals - exotic, steel & aluminium
  • Familiarity with precision measuring instruments and CMM inspection
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Flexibility to work shifts and overtime when required
  • Programming experience at the machine and offline (Hypermill or similar)
  • Experience with Mill/Turn or 5-axis machining and tight-tolerance components
  • Knowledge of continuous improvement and lean manufacturing principles
