A great opportunity has arisen for electrical technicians to join a leading manufacturer who supply to a variety of industries including offshore, oil & gas and other hostile environments.
Job Description:
- Assemble electronic/electrical subassemblies from schematic diagrams, drawings or verbal instructions and following works order instructions to ISO9001 standards.
- Wire and solder wiring harness and cable assemblies, PC boards, SMT, transformer assemblies, control consoles, connectors, etc.
- Perform limited troubleshooting and testing of assemblies.
- Perform limited computer-controlled operations.
- Ensure assembly/sub-assembly build times are met to maintain department efficiency target of 100%.
- Carry out job tasks safely using good working practices.
- Carry out all assembly work to the required department quality standards.
- Ensure good housekeeping.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Carry out heavy-duty cable wiring, deck cable assembly, and control system outfitting.
- Complete all necessary documentation according to the requirements.
- Ensure assembly/sub assembly build times are met for major project schedule.
Beneficial Skills / Qualifications:
- ONC in electrical/electronic required but not essential.
- IEEE 18th Edition accreditation preferred.
- Low voltage AC/DC panel wiring/looming.
- High voltage installations.
- Control/Data systems.
- Fibre Optic handling/termination.
- Schedule/Quality/Safety awareness.
- Must have good communication skills and the ability to work well with others.
- Must be able to read and interpret drawings and sketches.
- Good organisational and communication skills required.
- Must be hard working.
- Must be able to work under pressure and the ability to manage specific details.
- Some travelling may be required (not essential).
- 1 to 5 years' experience in shop operations.
- Experience with production processes and equipment.
- A good understanding of electrical/electronic systems essential.
- Maintain behaviour in compliance with HSE requirements.
- Maintain responsibility and accountability through personal commitment and behaviour.
- Report any unsafe or environmentally unsound acts and conditions to their immediate Supervisor such that remedial action can be taken to manage the risk.
Additional Information:
- Competitive Salary.
- 4 day week shift pattern i.e. Mon-Thurs followed by Tues-Fri.
- 37 hours per week - 7.30am to 5.30pm (first 3 days) then 7.30am to 4.30pm (4th day).
- 26.5 days holidays inclusive of bank holidays.
- Overtime - time and a half Mon-Sat and double time Sunday after 37 hours worked.
- 5% pension.
- Private healthcare.
