Our client is seeking an Electrical Development Engineer to lead the technical aspects of New Product Development (NPD) for powered equipment, battery systems, and technology. This role is crucial for driving innovation and ensuring the technical excellence of our client\’s products.
Day-to-Day of the Role:
- Lead technical aspects of NPD for powered and battery-powered equipment, focusing on Li-Ion cell technology.
- Provide technical insights, specify products, test prototypes, support customer field trials, and create quality documentation, including technical data, user manuals, and specifications within the NPI process.
- Act as a key technical specialist supporting the commercial team with customer technical discussions.
- Support compliance by identifying and obtaining the correct standards for new products within the NPI Process.
- Stay informed about competitor and market activities, trends, and latest developments that could affect the business equipment assortment.
- Identify opportunities for Existing Product Development, process improvements, and media content execution that contribute to the continuous enhancement of products and services.
- Provide technical expertise for complex investigations on warranty claims, quality issues, and general troubleshooting of powered and battery-powered equipment and electrical queries.
- Maintain an understanding of the company\’s equipment products including their features, specifications, and applications.
- Provide training for customers and internal teams on powered equipment, ensuring effective communication and understanding of key features and benefits.
- Support marketing with the creation of media content for powered equipment, ensuring the features and benefits, as well as functionalities of the equipment, are communicated effectively and professionally to customers.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Degree in Electrical Engineering, battery technology and systems, or a related field.
- Ability to multi-task, prioritise, and manage time effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and provide effective solutions.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals.
- Competent computer skills – Outlook, Teams, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint.
- Knowledge of relevant regulation and legislation that covers the use of equipment.
- Full UK driver\’s license and valid passport.
- Experience with Lean / Six Sigma / Continuous Improvement methodology is preferred.
