My client is seeking a dedicated Registered Manager to lead the provision of exceptional care for children and young people. This role is pivotal in managing a home and staff team, ensuring a safe and stimulating environment that nurtures the emotional and physical wellbeing of those in their care. They are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people, and vulnerable adults and strive for a workforce that reflects the diversity of Leeds.
Day to Day of the role:

Foster positive relationships and encourage strong bonds between children and staff.

Collaborate with professionals, families, and communities to support children’s growth.

Lead recruitment, training, and development processes for the staff team.

Act as an advocate for children, ensuring their views are heard and considered.

Nurture children’s ambitions and support their learning journeys.

Develop and maintain effective working and information sharing protocols.

Stay informed on developments regarding the care of looked-after children.

Create a stable and secure environment for young people to address past and present challenges.

Manage individual and environmental risk assessments and ensure effective risk management.

Handle complex behaviours assertively and sensitively.

Oversee the admissions process and support colleagues in this task.

Develop, deliver, and evaluate individual care plans.

Participate in appraisal, training, and development activities.

Degree level education plus NVQ/QCF Level 3 Diploma in Residential Child Care or equivalent.

Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (funded if not already held).

Social work qualification advantageous but not essential.

Strong leadership and management skills.

Excellent communication and team working abilities.

In-depth knowledge of the Children’s Homes Regulations 2015 and associated quality standards.
