Development Technologist

We are seeking a dedicated Technologist to join our dynamic team. This role involves working cross-functionally with the Technical Application, Sales, Quality, Process, Production, and Supply Chain teams on development projects to exceed customer expectations. The ideal candidate will drive product, process, and efficiency improvements, contributing to sales growth through new and improved product development.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Collaborate with various teams to deliver development projects using the stage gate process, ensuring thorough and controlled execution.
- Prioritise projects to focus on the most valuable and strategically beneficial outcomes.
- Represent the NPD team in front of key customers and suppliers, enhancing business relationships.
- Support the Team Manager in driving change and continuous improvement within the team.
- Continuously research markets and technologies to develop and share innovative product concepts and processes.
- Ensure accurate data usage at product launch, including QA checks and expected product yields, collaborating closely with the Quality and Production teams.
- Submit product costings using accurate data to provide viable costs to the Sales team.
- Work collaboratively with the wider Health & Safety team to enhance focus on safety within the business.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Experience with product development in sweet and savoury bakery applications.
- Strong ability to work with suppliers and customers.
- Suited to fast-paced projects and able to meet tight deadlines.
- Excellent interpersonal skills for effective cross-functional collaboration.
- Proactive in seeking opportunities to innovate and improve.
- Capable of absorbing complex data and implementing successful resolutions.
- Effective communication skills, adaptable to different situations.

- Food Science or related degree.
- Approximately 5 years of industrial bakery/FMCG experience.
- Demonstrable project management competence.
- High computer and system literacy.
- Strong presentation skills.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
