Join Reed Professional Services as an ENET Engineer within the IT Production department within our client. This role involves supporting and managing the infrastructure for the Bank’s electronic business, focusing on low latency connectivity and monitoring solutions aligned with trading and regulatory needs.

Day-to-Day of the Role:

  • Deliver and support low latency connectivity and monitoring solutions for the Global Markets business.
  • Apply SRE principles to improve system availability, latency, performance, and capacity planning.
  • Collaborate with network and platform engineers to design reliable systems and reduce manual intervention through automation.
  • Own the Global Markets connectivity roadmap, ensuring smooth project delivery and operational handoff.
  • Monitor and manage the performance of global connectivity systems, incorporating regional team insights.
  • Conduct post-incident analysis and lead testing and benchmarking initiatives for new connectivity solutions.
  • Develop automated alerting, health checks, and dashboards to support proactive system management.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Strong background in low latency network engineering, including expertise in TCP/IP, multicast, and traffic shaping.
  • Experience with packet capture and analysis tools (e.g., Wireshark, tcpdump).
  • Familiarity with SRE tools and practices, such as IaC and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Experience supporting real-time trading applications and proficient in scripting and automation (Python, Bash, PowerShell).
  • Knowledge of messaging middleware (e.g., Solace, 29West) and observability platforms (e.g., ITRS Geneos, Prometheus).
  • Excellent communication skills and comfortable working in Linux systems and hybrid infrastructure.
