We are looking for a proactive and experienced Duty Manager to join our busy café in Cumbria. This full-time, permanent position is perfect for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment and is committed to providing outstanding customer service.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Oversee daily café operations and ensure the café runs smoothly.
  • Manage and schedule staff, ensuring adequate coverage during peak times.
  • Train new staff members and provide ongoing training for existing staff.
  • Handle customer inquiries and resolve any issues to maintain high customer satisfaction.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Manage inventory and order supplies as needed.
  • Monitor café performance and report on financial targets, operational goals, and staff performance.
  • Implement strategies to improve efficiency and increase revenue.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Duty Manager or similar managerial role in the hospitality industry.
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to manage a diverse team.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to work flexibly over a 7-day period.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations.
  • Proficient in using management software for scheduling and inventory.
