Catering and Functions Manager

  • Annual Salary: £34,000 (pro rata)
  • Location: Lisburn, Northern Ireland
  • Job Type: Full-time, 6 months Fixed Contract (there is a possibility of going permanent after a 6-month, contract-to-permanent basis)

Reed Recruitment are currently looking a Catering and Functions Manager for a thriving social enterprise. This role is pivotal in leading the catering operations for Lisburn and Castlereagh City Council events, ranging from small meetings to large conferences. If you are passionate about food, customer service, and making a social impact, this is the perfect opportunity for you.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Lead and supervise the catering team to ensure high-quality service delivery across various events.
  • Serve as the primary catering contact for Council staff and external clients, understanding and managing their requirements, budgets, and timelines.
  • Coordinate with chefs, kitchen staff, and front-of-house teams to meet and exceed menu and service expectations.
  • Oversee food preparation and presentation, ensuring all items adhere to quality standards.
  • Maintain rigorous health, safety, and hygiene standards across all operations.
  • Manage inventory and supply orders to ensure seamless event execution.
  • Provide hands-on leadership during events to guarantee exceptional service and customer satisfaction.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years management experience in a high-volume catering or banqueting environment.
  • Proven track record of leading a catering team.
  • Strong knowledge of food and beverage operations, particularly in banqueting and events.
  • Creative, adaptable, and positive approach to problem-solving.
  • Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask effectively under pressure.
  • Commitment to adhering to food safety and health and safety regulations.
