Job Title: IT Support AssistantLocation: Salbrook Road, Salfords (with flexibility to travel to Bancroft Road, Reigate, as required), so you will need to be a car owner to drive between locations. Reports to: Head of ITType: Full-time Office based 5 days a week Monday to Friday 8.30 am to 5 pm (may be some flexibility to WFH). As IT Support Assistant, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring the smooth running of our IT infrastructure while gaining broad exposure to real-world systems and business operations. You’ll work closely with our experienced Head of IT, who is committed to mentoring and supporting your development.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide first-line support for hardware, software, and network issues.Configure and maintain laptops, desktops, mobile devices, and printers.Support users with common applications (e.g., Microsoft Office).Perform basic Active Directory tasks such as account creation and password resets.Troubleshoot network connectivity problems (wired and wireless).Carry out routine system checks and preventative maintenance.Assist with IT-related projects and system upgrades.Learn and support the business’s core FileMaker database system, contributing to automation and process improvement initiatives.What We\’re Looking ForEssential Skills & QualificationsDemonstrated interest in Information Technology (through work, study, or personal projects).Basic understanding of:Windows Server and desktop operating systemsPC hardware components and troubleshootingNetwork principles (e.g., TCP/IP, wireless access)Active Directory fundamentalsFamiliarity with standard office software such as Microsoft Office.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.Self-motivated, with the ability to manage tasks independently and as part of a team.1–2 years’ experience in an IT support role or relevant educational background.Desirable AttributesExposure to scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Python).Understanding of relational databases and system workflows.Organised, reliable, and punctual.A positive, proactive attitude with a willingness to learn.Helpful and patient when dealing with end users.Development & Growth OpportunitiesThis role is designed to evolve with the right candidate.
