Transforming Lives Through Therapeutic Care at Wilderness Way. We’re seeking a dedicated and skilled children’s psychotherapist to join our professional Health and Wellbeing Team. If you have a strong background in supporting children and adolescents impacted by trauma, this is your opportunity to make a meaningful difference. Your Role:

  • Provide one-on-one and group therapy to children, tailoring interventions to meet their unique needs
  • Work closely with carers, families, and our Health and Wellbeing Team to create and implement personalised support strategies
  • Help teams understand children’s behaviours, offering insight and training to enhance their practice
  • Develop therapeutic plans and reports that make a tangible difference in children’s lives
  • Use our outdoor spaces and facilities to inspire and engage children in meaningful ways
  • Operate flexibly, with time spent at our Penrith Head Office, in children’s homes, and occasionally working from home
  • Travel across Cumbria regularly to connect with children and care teams

What We’re Looking For:

  • Substantial experience working directly with children in a counselling or psychological capacity
  • A UKCP/BACP registration and a Level 4 (or higher) counselling qualification
  • Deep knowledge of trauma and attachment theories, with the ability to apply them to practice
  • A strong understanding of legislation and safeguarding practices within residential childcare
  • Exceptional communication and IT skills, alongside proficiency in record-keeping
  • A valid UK driving licence and access to your own transport
