Reed.ai is looking for a Head of AI & Technology to join their team in Holborn, London.

We’re looking for an exceptional Head of AI Architecture to lead and inspire our senior engineering team, setting the architectural vision and driving the development of a cutting-edge AI-powered platform. This role demands a seasoned architect with substantial leadership gravitas, extensive experience in full-stack development, and deep expertise in AI technologies and tools. You will own the strategic architectural direction and implementation, ensuring our platform is scalable, secure, and aligned with the rapidly evolving AI landscape.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide visionary architectural leadership for the design, development, and delivery of a new generation AI-driven SaaS platform.
  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of Senior Full-Stack Developers and engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Define and enforce best practices in software architecture, coding standards, security, scalability, and performance.
  • Collaborate closely with product management, data science, and other stakeholders to align technical strategy with business goals.
  • Drive adoption and integration of advanced AI tools, frameworks, and platforms, keeping the team ahead in the evolving AI ecosystem.
  • Architect and oversee the implementation of complex system components, microservices, and APIs to meet demanding product requirements.
  • Establish robust development and delivery pipelines, championing proper agile working and DevOps principles.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and industry trends to inform innovation and platform evolution.
  • Act as the technical escalation point, resolving high-impact issues and architectural challenges.
  • Represent Reed.ai’s technical vision externally, contributing to thought leadership and industry presence.
Skills and Experience
  • Minimum 8 years of commercial software development experience, with at least 3 years in a senior or technical lead role.
  • Proven expertise in full-stack development using:
  • TypeScript (and JavaScript frameworks such as NextJS, Node, or Tailwind)
  • Python (including frameworks like Django, Flask, or FastAPI)
  • PostgreSQL and relational database design, optimization, and maintenance.
  • AI Development Tools such as Windsurf, Aider or Augment.
  • Demonstrable experience building and scaling SaaS platforms in a production environment.
  • Strong understanding and practical application of Agile software development methodologies.
  • Hands-on experience integrating AI tools, APIs, or platforms into software solutions.
  • Domain experience in Recruitment Technology, HRTech, or closely related fields is a must.
  • Proficient in software architecture, microservices, RESTful API design, and cloud-native development (AWS, Azure, or GCP preferred).
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and DevOps practices.
  • Solid grasp of security best practices, data privacy, and GDPR compliance.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a pragmatic approach to delivering solutions.

    • Experience with containerisation and orchestration tools such as Docker and Kubernetes.
    • Familiarity with event-driven architecture and message brokers (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ).

    • Prior experience working in startup environments or high-growth technology companies.
