We're recruiting a Transport & Freight Forwarding Coordinator to join a fastâpaced, customerâfocused logistics team. This role offers variety, responsibility, and the opportunity to take ownership of endâtoâend transport planning across the UK and Europe.
Youâll be trusted to manage shipments, liaise with customers and suppliers, and deliver costâeffective transport solutions â even in timeâcritical situations. If you enjoy problemâsolving, working under pressure, and providing excellent service, this could be a great fit.
Key Responsibilities- Manage customer enquiries and transport bookings via phone and email
- Enter, plan, and track shipments using the transport management system
- Provide quotations for UK, EU, and airfreight movements
- Offer alternative transport solutions to meet customer deadlines
- Book and manage suppliers to ensure reliable, costâeffective transport
- Handle urgent situations such as line stoppages and timeâcritical deliveries
- Communicate clearly with warehouse, operations, and accounts teams
- Keep customers updated on shipment progress and resolve issues proactively
- Close jobs accurately, ensuring PODs and documentation are uploaded
- Ensure jobs are completed correctly prior to invoicing
- Maintain accurate records, system data, and paperwork
- Monitor KPIs and support continuous improvement
- Previous experience in transport, logistics, or freight forwarding
- Essential experience in European transport planning
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to prioritise, multitask, and remain calm under pressure
- High attention to detail and strong organisational skills
- Confident using IT systems, including MS Office
- A proactive, "canâdo" approach and teamâfocused mindset
- Second language skills are an advantage
- 5 GCSEs (or equivalent), including English and Maths
- CPC qualification desirable but not essential
- A varied and responsible role within a growing logistics operation
