An established organisation is looking to appoint an experienced Product Developer to support the end-to-end development of textile-based products within a technically driven environment. This role will suit someone who can work independently, manage multiple projects at once, and take responsibility for products from initial concept through to bulk production and launch. You will work closely with internal teams and external suppliers to ensure products meet quality, performance, compliance, and commercial requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the full product development lifecycle from concept through to production and launch.
- Research materials, components, and construction methods to support product improvement and innovation.
- Work with suppliers and external partners to manage sampling, testing, and approvals.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, including specifications and Bills of Materials (BOMs).
- Manage fit, sizing, and quality reviews, providing clear feedback to suppliers.
- Review product costings and support margin and commercial targets.
- Monitor progress against agreed timelines and critical paths, escalating risks where required.
- Ensure products meet internal quality and compliance requirements.
- Provide accurate product information to internal stakeholders to support commercial activity.
Skills & Experience
- Proven experience in a Product Developer or similar role within textile-based products.
- Strong technical understanding of garment construction, materials, and manufacturing processes.
- Experience managing technical documentation and product specifications.
- Confident working with global suppliers and manufacturing partners.
- Proficient in Adobe Illustrator and the Adobe Creative Suite.
- Experience with garment fit, sizing, grading, and quality control.
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail.
- Able to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative working style.
