Quality & Hygiene Coordinator Location: Bishops Cleeve, Cheltenham (Fully Onsite) Salary: Up to £35,000 per annum, depending on experience Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am – 5:00pm (flexibility required to meet business needs) Our client, a successful and rapidly growing food manufacturing business, is seeking a Quality & Hygiene Coordinator to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for a quality-focused professional to take ownership of site quality and hygiene standards while leading a small team within a fast-paced production environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring compliance with food safety, quality, and hygiene requirements, maintaining product integrity, and driving continuous improvement across the site. The Role As Quality & Hygiene Coordinator, you will be responsible for overseeing quality control and hygiene activities, ensuring the business consistently meets customer, legal, and company standards. You will work closely with production and management teams to maintain a strong food safety culture while supporting operational excellence. Key Responsibilities • Maintain accurate quality, food safety, and compliance documentation in line with legal, customer, and company requirements. • Conduct factory inspections, internal audits, and hygiene swabbing programmes, implementing corrective and preventative actions where necessary. • Monitor product quality standards, analyse trends, and provide regular reports to key stakeholders. • Lead daily quality control activities, including product assessments and checks, ensuring any issues are identified and resolved promptly. • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality enhancement, complaint reduction, and operational improvements. • Support new product introductions, ensuring documentation, processes, and equipment requirements are completed accurately. • Contribute to HACCP activities and provide expertise on food safety and quality matters. • Oversee site hygiene standards, including cleaning schedules, hygiene procedures, PPE management, and chemical stock control. • Deliver training and coaching to production teams to ensure ongoing compliance with quality and food safety requirements. • Lead, develop, and support the Hygiene and Quality Control teams through effective performance management and training. • Develop and maintain quality management systems, including digital and paperless solutions where appropriate. Candidate Requirements • Previous experience within a quality-focused role in a food manufacturing environment is essential. • Strong knowledge of food safety legislation, hygiene standards, and quality management systems. • Experience managing hygiene standards and food safety compliance within a manufacturing setting. • Proven experience conducting internal audits and supporting external audits or inspections. • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate, engage, and develop teams. • A proactive approach to maintaining and improving quality, safety, and hygiene standards. • Experience monitoring raw materials, packaging, and finished product quality. • Strong reporting, record-keeping, and KPI management skills. • Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities. • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively within a fast-paced environment. • Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving capabilities. • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word. • High standards of numeracy and literacy.
