We are very excited to be working exclusively with one of the UK’s fastest growing travel trade media brands, which is expanding its team and is looking to recruit a new full-time Senior Reporter, to help deliver daily editorial output for a well-established travel B2B media news service. This is a fabulous opportunity to join an ambitious, fast-moving operation where you can put your mark on a key role and work closely with editors to shape what lands in the inbox and on their digital site, every single day. The role involves working mostly from home, with regular requirements to attend travel industry events in London, therefore we are ideally looking for someone based in, or close to London (within the M25).

Key responsibilities:

  • Helping deliver the daily news agenda, including writing accurate copy at speed, to tight deadlines.
  • Identifying and publishing breaking news stories.
  • Generating on and off-diary stories.
  • Publishing content via WordPress.
  • Contributing to the team’s editorial output.
  • Attending and reporting from regular travel industry events across the UK and overseas when required.
  • Promoting stories and events across social media channels.
  • Building relationships with PRs, travel brands and suppliers.
  • Delivering sharp angles, compelling copy and strong headline crafting.

The successful person will have at least three years’ experience in a similar role (essential), with strong news judgement and the ability to identify a trade-relevant news story. You will have excellent writing skills and headline crafting ability, with confidence in interviewing, and a pro-active, organised approach, with strong ideas. A willingness to represent the company at events, such as conferences, launches and press trips (mainly in London), but some overseas travel required, is essential. Knowledge of the travel industry is not essential, but a willingness to learn and develop an understanding is important – your news reporting experience is the priority.

Our client offers a highly competitive salary; great company benefits and the opportunity to join a growing brand where your input will genuinely shape the output.
