A well-established not-for-profit scientific publisher in the Cambridge area is looking for an organised and assertive Editorial

Administrator to join its collaborative editorial team.

This highly varied role will help guide research articles through submission, peer review and publication, while providing an excellent service to authors, academic editors and reviewers around the world.

This role offers hybrid working, with 3 days in the office and 2 days working from home.

The role

  • Administering submissions using an online manuscript-tracking system.
  • Checking new and revised articles against submission requirements.
  • Coordinating peer review, including inviting reviewers and monitoring deadlines.
  • Preparing editorial decision letters and respond to enquiries.
  • Checking accepted manuscripts before they move into production.
  • Maintaining accurate records and keep articles progressing through the workflow.
  • Supporting editorial meetings, reports and occasional journal projects.

About you

The successful person will have

  • Previous administrative or office-based experience (ideally in a publishing or scientific environment but this is not essential).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organisation and attention to detail.
  • Confidence using databases and other IT systems.
  • A proactive, professional and team-oriented approach.

Experience in publishing, science or higher education would be helpful but is not essential as training will be provided.
