The predicted salary is between 20000 - 25000 Β£ per year.

Previous GP surgery experience is desirable but not essential. Salary will be dependent on previous experience. Full training and support will be given. This GP surgery Receptionist role will offer you a set working pattern that will include 3 shifts per week working Tuesday 1:00pm - 6:30pm, Wednesday 1:00pm - 6:30pm, and Thursday 1:00pm - 6:30pm.

Main duties of the job:

  • The successful applicant would ideally have previous Reception/customer services experience dealing with the general public with a good telephone manner and the ability to deal with and remain calm when dealing with difficult situations in a firm but empathetic manner.
  • Part of your role will be responding to and dealing with patients face to face, via telephone, texting, and emailing, so you must enjoy working with the public and helping people.
  • Must have very good IT skills for this role and the ability to multi-task.
  • Use of Microsoft Office products is required to enable support administratively with dealing with emails, texting system, using the EMIS patient system to book appointments, book blood test requests, dealing with patient prescription requests and queries, scanning documents, and general office duties.

Redwood House Surgery develops and builds a multi-skilled team, therefore all roles are adaptable. You will receive training so you can be a flexible member of the team to enable the practice to function at all times, particularly in times of staff absence. Health & Safety:

The post-holder will implement and lead on the full range of promotion and management of their own and others' health, safety, and security as defined in the practice health & safety policy, the practice health & safety manual, and the practice infection control policy and published procedures. This will include (but will not be limited to): Ensuring job holders across the practice adhere to their individual responsibilities for infection control and health and safety, using a system of observation, audit and check, hazard identification, questioning, reporting, and risk management. Ensure staff are completing mandatory training requirements. Maintain and up-to-date knowledge of health and safety and infection control statutory and best practice guidelines and ensure implementation across the business. Using personal security systems within the workplace according to practice guidelines. Identifying the risks involved in work activities and undertaking such activities in a way that manages those risks across the business. Making effective use of training to update knowledge and skills, and initiate and manage the training of others. Using appropriate infection control procedures, maintaining work areas in a tidy and safe way and free from hazards, and initiation of remedial/corrective action where needed. Actively identifying, reporting, and correcting health and safety hazards and infection hazards immediately when recognised. Keeping own work areas and general/patient areas generally clean, identifying issues and hazards/risks in relation to other work areas within the business, and assuming responsibility in the maintenance of general standards of cleanliness across the business in consultation (where appropriate) with other sector managers. Routine management of team areas, and maintenance of work space standards.
