Responsibilities Act as a responsible adult and assist with the supervision, personal care, welfare and keeping safe of individuals and/or groups of children and their environment, working with teachers and other class staff to plan and deliver activities to support student engagement. Demonstrate an understanding of children with social, communication and interaction needs. Assist with resources and basic classroom management techniques to support their learning. Encourage positive behaviour and aid the teacher in managing behaviour. Give regular feedback on children’s progress to the class teacher and file records. Establish good relationships with pupils, parents and staff. Contribute to the preparation and maintenance of the learning environment. Be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young children and young people with Special Educational Needs. Qualifications and attributes High levels of dedication and motivation. The desire to pursue a career working with students with special educational needs and disabilities. A flexible approach to working with others whilst forming excellent learning relationships with students.
