The Diocese of St Albans is seeking a Property and Trusts Advisor to join its Property Team, taking responsibility for legal, property and trust matters across the Diocese's portfolio, including property transactions, trusts management and the provision of expert advice to clergy, trustees and professional advisers.

As the successful candidate you will be a qualified property professional, you might be an English law qualified solicitor, chartered surveyor or legal executive, with experience of negotiating development agreements conditional upon planning permission and handling general conveyancing matters. You will have either an understanding of or an interest in learning about ecclesiastical or charity law.

You will need strong organisational, administrative and IT skills, and the ability to manage a substantial portfolio of property and trusts. The successful candidate will be able to work effectively with a range of stakeholders, demonstrate an understanding of and sympathy with the work of the Church of England in the Diocese of St Albans, and be willing to travel occasionally throughout the Diocese and for meetings elsewhere, including outside normal office hours.

  • Salary: £55,000 - £60,000 per annum
  • Location: St Albans (hybrid working)
  • Permanent, full-time position
  • 35 hours per week (Monday to Friday)
  • Flexible working with occasional evening/weekend commitments
