A unique opportunity to join a well-funded early-stage technology company. Initially working remotely, with plans for a hybrid London office, you will play a key role in building and maintaining the cloud infrastructure that supports an innovative software platform. Working across AWS, CI/CD, containerisation, monitoring and deployment, you will help create a secure, scalable and reliable platform that enables software engineers to deliver high-quality products efficiently. With the company at an exciting stage of growth, this role offers an excellent long-term career path, including leadership if you wish. Due to the nature of some client projects, you must be willing and eligible to obtain UK Security Clearance. You can join the team and work on other commercial projects while your clearance application is progressing.
Location: London office, hybrid, minimum 2 days a week
Requirements for Senior Platform Engineer:
- Strong commercial experience working with AWS, including cloud infrastructure and application hosting
- Experience with Docker and containerised applications
- Experience deploying and managing container-based workloads, ideally using Amazon ECS
- Good understanding of CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation
- Commercial experience using Terraform and Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
- Experience using cloud monitoring and observability tools to support platform reliability
- Enjoy working in a fast-paced start-up environment where you can take ownership, influence technical direction and make a genuine impact on the company's success
- Excellent communication skills, with the confidence to work closely with software engineers, product teams and senior stakeholders
- You must be willing and eligible to obtain UK Security Clearance due to the nature of some projects (this typically requires at least 5 years' continuous UK residency and a clean criminal record)
- Exposure to any of the following would be beneficial: Python, TypeScript, Amazon ECR, AWS KMS and AWS Lambda
Responsibilities for Senior Platform Engineer:
- Build and maintain the AWS cloud platform that supports the company's software applications
- Develop and enhance CI/CD pipelines to enable reliable, efficient and frequent software releases
- Manage containerised deployments using Docker and Amazon ECS, ensuring environments are secure and scalable
- Implement monitoring, logging and alerting solutions to improve platform performance, reliability and visibility
- Work closely with software engineers to streamline development and deployment processes while maintaining strong security standards
- Produce clear technical documentation and platform guidance to support a growing engineering team
