HGV Driver
A fantastic opportunity for an experienced HGV Driver to join a cutting-edge technology company developing highly innovative hardware products.
This growing organisation is seeking a confident and reliable driver to support the safe and timely transportation of technical equipment between its North Uttlesford base, client sites and live events across the UK, with occasional overseas travel potentially required.
Alongside driving responsibilities, you will help manage vehicle maintenance and compliance, support and train other drivers and contribute to wider operational projects when required.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong background in logistics or commercial driving, particularly within supermarket distribution, parcel delivery or another structured driving environment, who is looking for a varied role with additional responsibility.
Location: North Uttlesford / Greater Cambridge area โ five days a week onsite
Salary: Negotiable, dependent on experience
Requirements for the HGV Driver role:
- Full UK driving licence with Category C entitlement
- Category C+E entitlement would be advantageous but is not essential
- Clean driving record and a strong commitment to safe and compliant driving
- Confident carrying out daily vehicle inspections and basic maintenance checks
- Experience managing vehicle maintenance, inspections and repairs
- Able to safely load, secure, transport and unload technical equipment
- Flexible approach to travel, including regular UK travel and potentially occasional overseas assignments
- Excellent time management, reliability and punctuality
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Experience leading, training or supporting drivers and operational teams
- Willingness to support wider operational activities when not driving
- Previous experience in supermarket distribution, logistics, parcel delivery or another structured driving environment is highly desirable
- Must be eligible to obtain UK Security Clearance due to the nature of the work
Responsibilities for the HGV Driver role:
- Transporting technical hardware and equipment safely and efficiently to client sites and events
- Carrying out daily vehicle inspections and ensuring vehicles remain roadworthy and compliant
- Coordinating routine fleet maintenance, repairs and safety inspections
- Loading, securing and unloading equipment carefully to prevent damage during transit
- Supporting route planning and providing updates regarding deliveries, delays or scheduling issues
- Reporting vehicle defects and arranging timely repairs where required
- Leading, training and supporting drivers and wider support teams
- Assisting with non-driving projects and other operational activities when required
- Representing the business professionally when dealing with clients, suppliers and external stakeholders
