A rare opportunity for a talented Design & Development Engineer to join a cutting -edge technology company developing highly innovative products at the intersection of advanced engineering and emerging technologies. This is a hands -on role focused on taking ideas from concept and prototype through to fully developed, manufacturable products.

The role would suit an engineer with some commercial experience who enjoys building, experimenting, problem -solving and working across the full product development lifecycle within a fast -paced R&D environment.

Due to the nature of some client projects, you must be willing and eligible to obtain DV Security Clearance. This generally requires a long -term UK residency history (typically 10+ years) and the ability to pass government security vetting. You can join the team and work on other commercial projects while your clearance application is progressing.

Location:<\/b> North Uttlesford / Greater Cambridge area (5 days onsite - ideally you will hold a full UK driving license as the office is not on public transport links)

Requirements for Design & Development Engineer:<\/b>
<\/div>
- A 2.1 or 1st class degree in Engineering, Physics, Design Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electronics Engineering or a closely related discipline
<\/span><\/li> - Outstanding academic credentials throughout education. This team is comprised of exceptionally bright engineers and scientists; therefore, candidates should have achieved excellent academic results, including at least AAA at A Level (or international equivalent), alongside a degree from a leading international university
<\/li> - Commercial experience within product development, design engineering or R&D environments
<\/li> - Strong CAD design experience
<\/li> - Experience with additive manufacturing and rapid prototyping techniques
<\/li> - Strong practical engineering skills with a passion for building and problem -solving
<\/li> - Good understanding of engineering principles and product development processes
<\/li> - Ability to quickly learn new tools, technologies and engineering disciplines
<\/li> - Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams
<\/li> - Strong attention to detail
<\/li> - A proactive and self -motivated approach to problem -solving
<\/li> - Willingness to work onsite five days per week
<\/li> - Ability to travel at short notice when required
<\/li><\/ul>
Responsibilities for Design & Development Engineer:<\/b>
<\/div>- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to design, prototype and develop innovative products<\/span>
<\/li> - Create CAD models and engineering designs to support product development activities
<\/li> - Build, test and iterate physical prototypes
<\/li> - Investigate and solve engineering challenges using practical and innovative approaches
<\/li> - Improve product performance, reliability, efficiency and manufacturability through testing and experimentation
<\/li> - Support products through multiple stages of the development lifecycle
<\/li> - Work hands -on within workshop and R&D environments
<\/li> - Contribute to the successful delivery of new technologies and products
<\/li> - Document development activities and communicate technical findings effectively
<\/li> - Continuously learn and apply new engineering techniques and technologies
<\/li><\/ul>
