A brilliant opportunity for a Graduate or experienced Software Test Engineer to work for a fast-growing company that develops industry-leading communication software and hardware. Offering a very unique opportunity to see the products you test being used in critical communications, including mission-control space travel! This role has been highlighted as being well suited to a Mathematics or Physics graduate, with some programming knowledge, who loves problem-solving and has a methodical approach to work. We also welcome applications from experienced test engineers.
Salary: £31,000 for a Graduate, more for experienced + competitive plus 8% pension, healthcare, etc.
Requirements for Software Test Engineer:- Educated to degree level or equivalent in a STEM subject such as Maths, Physics, Computer Science, Engineering – due to the analytical requirements for this role, people from Physics or Mathematics backgrounds tend to do very well
- Good programming knowledge in Python
- Experience and enjoyment in testing code
- You are not set on being a ‘Software Developer’ and love the idea of a highly technical, problem-solving role
- IP networking, scripting experience, use of multiple operating systems (Linux, Mac OS X, Windows)
- Writing automation tests using Python
- Writing and running Test Cases and Test Plans
- Supporting the development team by replicating field issues
- Participating in developing testing strategies
- Working within Agile development teams
