We are delighted to be supporting a growing technology-led organisation operating within the renewable energy sector, who are looking to hire a Software Developer as part of an expanding in-house engineering team. This role sits within a small but highly capable software group responsible for building and maintaining complex web-based tools used by industry professionals.
The work spans front end development, back end systems, APIs and performance-critical logic, offering a varied and technically engaging environment for Developers who enjoy solving real-world problems. Depending on your strengths and interests, you may work across multiple areas of the platform, from crafting intuitive user interfaces through to implementing deeper logic and data-driven functionality. This is an excellent opportunity for a Developer who enjoys variety, collaboration, and seeing their work make a tangible impact.
Location: Cambridge area, 3-4 days a week on site
Salary: Β£50,000 - Β£80,000 per annum + benefits
Requirements for Software Developer
- Strong experience developing modern web applications
- Solid JavaScript skills, including front end development
- This company values an excellent academic history, so are looking for candidates with a 2.1 or 1st class STEM degree and at least ABB at A Level (or international equivalent) β please ensure this is listed on your CV if applying
- An interest in building clean, intuitive and user-friendly interfaces
- Exposure to back end systems, APIs, or data-driven applications
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to understand complex systems
- Ability to quickly learn new technologies and adapt to different problem spaces
- Confident communicator who enjoys working as part of a collaborative team
- Interest in sustainability, technology for good, or renewable energy is highly desirable
- Experience in any of the following would be beneficial but not essential: React, TypeScript, Rust, WebAssembly, back end development, APIs, databases, or algorithmic problem solving.
