A fantastic opportunity for a Junior Software Engineer/Developer with proficient knowledge in C# to join an industry-leading software company with offices in Leicestershire. Offering excellent training, career progression and prospects, this is an ideal time for top entry-level C# Software Engineers to start their career while being guided by a team of engineers well versed in hiring graduate talent.
Location: 2 days a week in Leicestershire / 3 days remote (ideally you will drive, but commutable via public transport from Leicester, Market Harborough and Rugby).
Salary: £25,000 - £30,000 per annum + benefits
Requirements for Junior C# Software Engineer:
- 2.1 honours degree or above in a relevant subject with a high Computer Science content i.e. Mathematics, Physics, Engineering (candidates on track for a First from a leading university will be highly regarded)
- At least BBC at A Level or equivalent UCAS points (strong STEM A-Level results advantageous)
- Proficient in C#
- Excellent object-oriented programming knowledge
- Good knowledge in AT LEAST 2 of the following: Cyber Security, Databases, Agile or Testing
- Knowledge of developing C#.NET web services, SOAP or RESTful
- Experience or exposure to additional languages such as C++, Java, JavaScript or React is beneficial
- Familiarity with Agile environments and tools such as Jira is advantageous
- Exposure to automated testing (e.g. regression testing tools) is beneficial
- Internship or year in industry experience, particularly working with C#, would be highly beneficial
- You have completed personal coding projects, hackathons, or have relevant industry placement experience
- Passion for coding and interest in software development
- Self-motivated
- Fantastic communication skills
Responsibilities for Junior C# Software Engineer:
- Development and maintenance of high-quality software applications
- Developing internal & external facing web services
- Collaboration with software development, testers, and product management teams
- Involvement in both technical and business aspects of the product
- Identify the risks and create a plan of actions
- Identify the issues and implement the resolutions
- Contribution to software design
- Meet the deadlines and uphold the high standard
- Contribute to code reviews and follow best development practices
- Support development of application features and enhancements
- Work within Agile teams and participate in ceremonies
