Redstone Commodity Search are working with a Midsize Metals trading house looking to hire a Senior Scrap Metal trader with a focus on Aluminium to join their team based in West Midlands, UK.
Key Responsibilities / Tasks
- Develop and execute trading strategies for non-ferrous scrap metals, (particularly aluminium but also copper, lead, nickel, and zinc) to maximise profitability.
- Maintain and grow a portfolio of clients and suppliers, ensuring long-term partnerships within the UK.
- Collaborate with internal teams (logistics, finance, risk management) to ensure seamless operations
- Contribute to the strategic development of the company’s’ trading division by identifying and pursuing growth opportunities in untapped markets.
- Role reports to Head Trader.
Key Qualifications / Experience
- 5+ years as a metal trader within Non-Ferrous Scrap Metal, predominantly across the UK markets with a focus on Aluminium.
- Strong industry network with a transferable portfolio is advantageous.
- Proven track record of profitability and risk management in metals trading.
- Open to travel to meet customer/clients.
- To be located in the Midlands, UK (On-site).
