Redstone Commodity Search are working with a global soft commodities trading group looking to hire a Middle Officer Manager to join their team.
Key Responsibilities / Tasks
- Lead and manage the Middle Office function, overseeing 3 Trade Analysts and ensuring the team provides accurate, timely and effective support to the cocoa trading desk.
- Oversee the full trade lifecycle, ensuring physical and derivative trades are accurately captured, documented, confirmed and reconciled through to completion.
- Coordinate trading, operations, finance and counterparties, providing clear reporting on positions, exposure, receivables, FX and other key commercial and operational matters.
- Strengthen controls and processes across the desk, identifying operational and trading risks, challenging discrepancies and continuously improving the way the middle-office function supports the business.
- Role reports to Co – CEO of Cocoa
Key Qualifications / Experience
- 5+ years' experience within commodities (especially cocoa) in middle Office, trade control, trade support or a similar position within a trading environment.
- Strong understanding of commodity trading, with the ability to understand and oversee both physical and derivative transactions and the wider trade lifecycle.
- Previous people management or team leadership experience, with the ability to manage, develop and coordinate a team while maintaining high standards of accuracy and accountability.
- Located in the UK and can be hybrid (3 days in office, 2 days from home).
