Redstone Search Group Ltd are working with a global commodity trading house who are establishing a freight and commodity analytics division and looking to hire a lead / senior analyst to spearhead the division based in London or Madrid.

Key Responsibilities / Tasks
  • Own and build a best-in-class freight analytics capability from the ground up
  • Deliver market analysis and forecasts across dry bulk (Capesize, Panamax, Supramax, Handysize)
  • Generate actionable trade ideas across physical and FFA markets
  • Partner closely with traders on risk, hedging, and PnL optimisation
  • Develop models, scenarios, and data tools integrating AIS, flows, weather, and macro data
  • Define the digital and data roadmap for freight analytics
  • Role reports to Global Head of Shipping & Chartering
Key Qualifications / Experience
  • 7+ years in dry bulk freight / shipping / commodities research
  • Strong track record of forecasting and commercial impact
  • Experience with freight derivatives (FFAs) is preferred
  • Advanced modelling skills (Python/Excel) and data handling capability
  • Commercial mindset with the ability to translate analytics into trading decisions
  • Confident stakeholder engagement with traders and senior leadership
  • Located in London, Madrid or open to relocation
