My client is looking for an experienced B2B Senior ABM planner who is passionate about B2B communications and who is comfortable working within a growing and fast moving account. They will be required to work alongside the planning director, to take the strategic lead on all ABM jobs and push our remit, working alongside the client team. They won’t just be solving briefs, they will grow to have strategic oversight of multiple briefs and business units.
The planning team is the catalyst for inspiring effective and award-winning creative work. The team works closely with data, social and influencer departments whilst operating across the full range of comms disciplines. Their senior planners are trusted to maintain and champion our high levels of creativity and effectiveness. In this role, they will have the main responsibility for leading all ABM jobs and workstreams, embedding an ABM way of thinking and process within the B2B team and ensuring that we deliver to a high level.
They need to have a proven history of delivering ABM strategies and persuading clients of those strategies. A senior planner should be able to own the planning process, from start to finish. Not just responding to briefs, but finding strategic opportunities for the client.
Responsibilities- Take, probe and respond to all ABM briefs
- Lead and undertake research to understand relevant categories and sectors
- Utilise insight to develop personalised ABM approaches
- Craft insight-led creative briefs
- Develop value propositions and segmented messaging frameworks
- Develop briefs to inspire exciting and culturally relevant content
- Improve the work throughout the creative process, backed by insight
- Keep on top of the latest marketing science and theory
- Be able to brief partner agencies/disciplines
- Develop testing plans and measurement frameworks
- Effectiveness analysis and data-informed recommendations
- Earn the trust of mid-level clients
- Strong core skills – research and insight analysis, journey planning, targeting and segmentation, messaging platforms, proposition development
- Finger on the pulse of social and digital channel developments and technology innovations - and an ability to see how these could be used to meet brand objectives
- Good judge of creative work, knowing how to help creative get to the very best work
- Able to identify inspiring insights to inform a convincing strategy
- Able to synthesise complex information into a persuasive ‘story’ for clients
- Strong presentation skills
- Interpersonal skills to build relationships with clients, CS and creative leaders
- Good facilitation skills with senior clients and agency partners to achieve positive outcomes
- Can react quickly to, and overcome, challenges during the planning/creative process
- Planner with 5+ years’ experience
- 2+ years in B2B
- Deep experience in and understanding of developing ABM programmes and communications
- Experience in developing value propositions and comms frameworks to support B2B buyer journeys
