Position Summary: We have a unique opportunity for an Execution Trader to join our dynamic and growing team focused on environmental markets. This role is ideal for a talented and ambitious individual eager to develop risk management and trading skills. You will be mentored by our experienced trading team and gain invaluable insights into carbon markets and trading. The successful candidate will be customer focused, process driven, have an interest in environmental markets, and the ability to thrive in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Trade Execution: Work with suppliers to execute trades during market hours (07:00-17:00). Ensure accuracy and timeliness in all trading activities.
  • Trade booking: Book trades executed on behalf of the Business Development Managers. Send out post-trade documentation. Liaise with clients to chase outstanding approvals, documents, payments and deliveries.
  • Position and Cashflow Management: Monitor and manage trading positions to maximise profitability and minimise risk. Oversee cash flow to ensure sufficient liquidity for trading operations. Manage the financial aspects of trading activities including margin requirements and settlement processes.
  • Customer Interaction and Relationship Building: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and stakeholders. Assist the sales team in client meetings and presentations. Provide market insights and advice to clients.
  • Market Analysis and Reporting: Conduct market research and analysis to inform client trading strategies. Stay informed of market trends, news, and economic factors affecting the market. Provide daily price development and market exposure updates to internal stakeholders.
  • Compliance, Risk Management and Onboarding: Assist in the onboarding of new clients, including document review, sanctions screening and ensuring all trading activities comply with relevant regulations and company policies. Identify, escalate and mitigate trading risks. Maintain accurate records of all trading activities.
