Reds10 are seeking an experienced Financial Controller to play a pivotal role within our finance leadership team. This is a senior position responsible for delivering accurate, timely financial information, strengthening financial controls, and supporting strategic decision-making across the business.
The ideal candidate will bring strong financial analysis and forecasting expertise within a £50m+ revenue organisation, alongside deep experience in management accounts, controls, and team leadership. Construction industry experience is preferred, as is exposure to ERP system implementation.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the production of accurate, timely monthly management accounts and financial reports
- Deliver robust financial analysis, forecasting, and budgeting to support strategic decision-making
- Maintain and enhance financial controls, policies, and procedures
- Ensure full compliance with financial regulations, accounting standards, tax, and CIS requirements
- Prepare statutory accounts and financial statements in line with regulatory requirements
- Oversee balance sheet reconciliations and month-end close processes
- Manage subcontractor invoicing and provide accurate information for CIS returns
- Support continuous improvement of finance systems and processes, including ERP implementation where applicable
- Monitor and ensure delivery against all financial deadlines
- Work closely with senior stakeholders to provide insight and challenge where required
- Lead, develop, and manage a high-performing finance team
- Qualified accountant: ACA, ACCA, or CIMA
- Proven Financial Controller (or equivalent) experience within a £50m+ turnover business
- Strong background in financial analysis, forecasting, and management account reporting
- Excellent technical accounting knowledge and attention to detail
- Strong communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels
- Advanced Excel and strong proficiency with financial systems (e.g. Sage, ERP platforms)
- Highly organised, deadline-focused, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
- Proactive problem-solver with strong commercial awareness
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
