Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will contribute to the overall success of the business by supporting the finance team in the effective management and reporting of divisional performance in line with business requirements. You will be expected to:

  • Promote and act in accordance with Group values, systems, policies and procedures.
  • Support the finance team in ensuring that all deadlines and financial timetable are achieved.
  • Assume responsibility for all overhead costs, ensuring they are correctly coded and apportioned.
  • Manage the Group balance sheet submission process, from completion of reconciliation to review with FM & FD.
  • Assist with accurate and robust forecasting and planning in line with requirements.
  • Control the quarterly and annual Corporate Sustainability Questionnaire process, ensuring all data is accurately collected and recorded within the submission.
  • Point of contact for finance shared service centre, offering support and guidance when required.
  • Assist with appropriate reporting to the MD and Divisional board.

What you'll need:

  • A part‑qualified accountant, actively studying, with experience in a commercial accounting role, ideally within the house‑building sector.
  • A strong team player with the drive and tenacity to achieve the goals of the business.
  • Highly numerate with strong IT and financial analysis skills, particularly advanced Excel skills coupled with the ability to interpret data and assess impacts on the business.
  • The ability to not only produce data but understand the output and provide commentary and understanding to non‑financial stakeholders.
  • Experience of planning and organising work to meet targets.
  • Able and willing to contribute a professional opinion to the overall management of the business.
  • Self-confident, decisive, resilient and able to thrive under pressure in a fast‑paced environment.
