About the Role:
We're working with an award-winning Bristol-based law firm to find an experienced Lead Revenue & Billing Controller to join their Finance team on a permanent basis. This is a senior position, sitting within a wider Finance function that prides itself on first‐class service delivery. You'll manage a portfolio of clients and act as a key point of internal expertise for revenue control and billing, while also leading and developing a small team. Key Responsibilities:
- Taking ownership of working capital across a portfolio of departments and clients, building strong relationships with lawyers to manage debt collection and WIP.
- Keeping the billing cycle running smoothly from end to end, making sure invoices go out accurately, on time, and in line with client expectations.
- Leading and developing a small team, including workload allocation, performance management, and mentoring.
- Being the go‐to person when billing or system issues need resolving, and helping the wider team build confidence in handling complexity.
- Identifying and driving process improvements across the team and wider business.
Requirements:
- Strong background in revenue, credit control, or billing within a professional services setting (ideally the legal sector).
- Experience in team management and/or line management.
- Comfortable with managing multiple client relationships and navigating conversations with senior stakeholders.
- Confident in working with data and Excel.
