A market-leading organisation is recruiting an Infrastructure Engineer to join their central delivery team working across M365, Azure, and on-prem infrastructure. This new hands-on role will own infrastructure and migrations end-to-end, implement group-wide standards, and help transform a highly fragmented environment into a consistent, secure, and governable platform.
Duties & responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end M365 tenant migrations (discovery, data migration, target configuration, validation and cutover).
- Review and rationalise Azure estates against Well-Architected principles.
- Maintain and support on-prem infrastructure and hybrid integration points.
- Produce detailed diagrams, build guides, as-built records and runbooks.
- Drive standardisation and guardrails across subsidiaries (identity, security baselines, conditional access, MFA).
- Ensure changes follow change control and risk management processes.
- Design and execute test plans (functional, security, DR, performance) and support operational handover into BAU.
Skills & experience (essential)
- 4+ years’ experience across M365 and Azure in enterprise environments.
- Hands-on with Exchange, SharePoint, Intune, Entra ID (Azure AD), Security & Compliance.
- Experience supporting or leading large-scale migration or consolidation initiatives across cloud and hybrid environments.
- Solid grasp of modern identity and access principles, including secure authentication models and access control.
- Background working with hybrid estates that include both cloud platforms and traditional on-prem infrastructure.
- Ability to automate and standardise through scripting or infrastructure-led approaches.
- Confident communicator, capable of influencing technical direction and explaining change clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
Desirable
- Relevant degree or professional cloud/security certifications.
- Experience operating in multi-company / acquisition environments or rolling consolidation programmes.
