Swindon - 3 days in office. As a Test Manager, you will be responsible for leading a number of Test Engineers across several scrum teams, ensuring that the depth and breadth of testing delivers high quality software to customers. You will work alongside Development Leads to define and deliver automated test suites, allowing for rapid and repeatable testing of services. You will be an active member of the Quality Assurance Centre of Excellence alongside other QA Leads, defining and implementing improvements to our ways of working, tooling and best practices, striving to continually improve and innovate.
Technical Skills:
- Significant commercial experience of testing API-based systems within a microservice or monolithic environment
- Java
- SQL, API and web services (REST), SOAP, AWS services, XML/JSON
- Tools: Postman, Cucumber
- Demonstrable experience of TDD and BDD tools and techniques, including test automation
- Significant experience of creating test plans, approaches and risk-based testing
- Data creation and curation
- ISTQB Foundation (minimum)
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, implement and monitor effective test creation & execution across the scrum teams
- Contribute and support the effective handover to release engineers, supporting and resolving regression issues
- Contribute to our methods and techniques that ensure the quality of development
- Drive improvements to quality assurance through the use of metrics and active CoE participation
- Uphold adherence to standards and best practices
- Line management of permanent QAs within the teams (c.6 in total)
- Support and mentor line reports in developing their skills and experience, spread knowledge across teams
- Work as "one team" collaborate closely with Development Leads, Product team and wider QA teams
- Take responsibility for the effective resolution of issues as they arise and drive remediation thereof
