We’re hiring a Data Architect to take ownership of a modern Azure data platform and Databricks lakehouse, setting the standards, raising the bar, and driving real architectural maturity across the organisation.
This is a hands-on leadership role, combining technical authority with people management, where you’ll shape both the platform and the team delivering it.
The Role
You’ll act as the design authority for the data platform, ensuring everything built is scalable, governed, and aligned to best practice. At the same time, you’ll lead and develop a small team, embedding a high-performance, collaborative culture focused on delivering value for end users.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Own the architecture of the Azure data platform & Databricks lakehouse
- Define and enforce standards across:
- Medallion architecture (Bronze / Silver / Gold)
- Data pipelines, transformation patterns & modelling
- DevOps, CI/CD, Git workflows
What We’re Looking For
- Strong experience designing Azure data platforms & Databricks architectures
- Proven background in lakehouse environments (Medallion, Delta Lake)
- Deep understanding of dimensional modelling & data warehousing principles
- Experience defining architecture standards, patterns, and governance
- Hands-on knowledge of CI/CD, Terraform, and Git-based workflows
- Ability to challenge, influence, and lead from the front
- Experience working across IT, delivery teams, and stakeholders
