A leading organisation in the Bristol area requires a Network Engineer to join its expanding team. Reporting directly to the Networking & Security Manager, the successful candidate will support an existing network (identification, diagnoses, and resolution of network and security issues) as well as assist in the design of a new network and manage that once established.
Suitable candidates will have the following skills/experience:
- Experience of working in networking environments with exposure to both Cisco and Juniper
- Experience of supporting enterprise-scale network environments
- Solid understanding of Layer 2 / Layer 3 networking concepts
- Knowledge of high availability and resilience protocols
- Experience with next-generation firewalls
- Familiarity with network monitoring tools
- Strong troubleshooting skills using tools such as Wireshark
- Experience with VPNs and remote access solutions
- A relevant qualification (such as CCNA) would be welcomed
Duties will include the following:
- Designing, implementing and supporting enterprise network solutions
- Working across routers, switches, servers and software-defined networks
- Monitoring performance, troubleshooting issues and ensuring high availability
- Managing VPNs, remote access and wireless networks
