A leading organisation in the Bristol area requires an Infrastructure Engineer - with a Cyber Security focus - to join its growing team. This is a hands-on, delivery-oriented role requiring strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in complex, multi-platform environments.
Suitable candidates will have the following:
- Proven experience of working in an IT Engineer role with circa 5 years relevant infrastructure experience.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft technologies such as Windows Server and Microsoft Azure.
- Understanding of network security principles, including firewalls, segmentation, and secure remote access.
- Knowledge of identity and access management (IAM), including multi-factor authentication (MFA), RBAC, and conditional access policies.
- Experience aligning infrastructure builds with cyber security standards such as NCSC guidance, CIS benchmarks, or Microsoft Security Baselines.
- Awareness of common regulatory and compliance frameworks (e.g. ISO 27001, Cyber Essentials Plus).
- Ability to work with cyber security engineers to interpret and apply organisational security policies and controls in infrastructure delivery.
- Experience implementing monitoring, logging, and alerting toolsets.
- Understanding of data classification, encryption standards (e.g. at rest and in transit), and secure storage/access principles.
- ITIL Foundation Certificate.
