We’re looking for an experienced Data Analyst with a strong background in AS/400 environments to support a business through key year-start activities and an ongoing ERP migration.
This role will suit someone who enjoys getting under the skin of legacy systems, understanding how data connects, and ensuring critical reporting and calculations can be accurately replicated within a new ERP environment.
The Role
- Year-start preparation: Support the input and validation of year-start data, ensuring the existing system is correctly prepared for the new year.
- Data analysis and mapping: Review the current AS/400 data structure, including tables, records, relationships and dependencies, to support the migration to a new ERP.
- Reporting analysis: Investigate existing reports, understand their underlying logic and calculations, and help ensure these can be reproduced accurately in the new environment.
- Process documentation: Review and document batch jobs, data flows and existing system processes, building on documentation already available.
- ERP migration support: Work with stakeholders to translate legacy data and reporting requirements into clear, usable information for the new platform.
- Data integrity: Help identify dependencies, validate outputs and ensure consistency between existing reports and their future equivalents.
What We’re Looking For
- Previous experience in a Data Analyst or similar technical data-focused role.
- Strong hands-on experience with IBM AS/400 / IBM i systems.
- Experience with AS/400 year-start or year-end processes.
- A solid understanding of legacy data structures, table relationships and record-level dependencies.
- Experience analysing business reports, calculations and reporting logic.
- Exposure to ERP migrations, data mapping or legacy system transformation.
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail and the ability to document complex processes clearly.
