A growing technology company within the healthcare sector is looking for a Software Support Engineer to join its expanding technical team.

This is a hands‑on, customer‑facing position supporting the installation, configuration, validation, and day‑to‑day operation of specialist software platforms used by companies in the medical field operating in highly regulated environments.

Working closely with customers and internal teams, you'll play a key role in ensuring successful software deployments, providing technical support, troubleshooting complex software issues, and delivering an exceptional customer experience throughout the software lifecycle.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Providing remote technical support and troubleshooting for software applications and instrument integration issues
  • Installing, configuring, maintaining, and supporting software solutions and supporting infrastructure
  • Supporting integrations with analytical and laboratory instrumentation
  • Troubleshooting communication issues involving RS232, USB, Ethernet, COM ports, and device drivers
  • Delivering customer training and assisting with software implementations and onboarding
  • Supporting database configuration, upgrades, maintenance, and system migrations
  • Creating and maintaining technical documentation, FAQs, knowledge base articles, and user guides
  • Assisting with software validation activities within highly regulated environments
  • Working closely with customers to understand technical requirements and deliver effective software solutions
  • Travelling to customer sites across the UK, with occasional European and international travel

What We're Looking For

  • Strong software troubleshooting, diagnostic, and analytical skills
  • Experience supporting software applications in Windows-based environments
  • Experience supporting both hardware and software environments
  • Excellent communication skills with a customer-focused approach
  • Ability to manage workloads effectively and prioritise multiple support requests
  • Strong IT knowledge, including Windows operating systems and database technologies
  • Comfortable working independently and collaboratively within a technical support team
  • Knowledge of MSSQL and/or Oracle databases
  • Full UK driving licence
