About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior/Lead Agile Delivery Manager to support the delivery of strategic engineering initiatives within a large-scale public sector environment. Working closely with engineering strategy, product, architecture, and software development teams, you will help drive the delivery of shared capabilities, technical enablers, and platform services that support multiple delivery teams across the organisation. This role requires a strong understanding of software engineering environments, agile delivery leadership, and the ability to coordinate complex workstreams across multiple teams and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead agile software delivery teams, driving sprint planning, execution, retrospectives, and delivery tracking
  • Manage delivery across multiple technical workstreams, ensuring alignment to business priorities, OKRs, and engineering roadmaps
  • Proactively manage risks, issues, blockers, and cross-team dependencies
  • Support Product Managers with backlog management and prioritisation across parallel initiatives
  • Build strong relationships with engineering teams, stakeholders, architects, DevOps, and wider delivery partners
  • Provide timely reporting, governance updates, and clear communication to senior stakeholders
  • Complete operational and governance activities including ServiceNow change processes
  • Drive continuous improvement and foster a positive agile delivery culture
  • Work closely with software development teams, providing effective challenge and delivery oversight where required

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Extensive history within a UK Gov environment, working in accordance to GDS
  • Proven Agile Delivery Management experience within software engineering environments
  • Strong planning, coordination, backlog management, and dependency management skills
  • Experience managing delivery across complex technical programmes and multiple stakeholders
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Ability to quickly understand technical roadmaps, business priorities, and delivery constraints
  • Experience using Jira, ServiceNow, Mural, and Lucid
  • Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and continuous improvement practices
  • Experience operating at a senior level, with demonstrable organisational influence and leadership

Technical & Platform Awareness

  • Azure and AWS cloud platforms
  • Terraform and Infrastructure as Code concepts
  • Git branching strategies
  • CI/CD and release pipeline creation/maintenance
  • Familiarity with testing practices, data platforms, and modern engineering delivery approaches
