We\’re looking for a Pre-Sales Solution Architect role, reporting directly into the CTO, to strengthen our technical pre-sales and bid response capabilities. This is a unique opportunity to sit at the intersection of technical excellence and commercial success, shaping how we win and deliver transformative projects.

You\’ll be the crucial bridge between our sales teams, delivery teams, and clients, translating complex technical challenges into compelling, deliverable solutions that win business and create value.

In terms of technology delivery, it’s a hands-off role, but to be successful in this role the Pre-Sales Solution Architect must be familiar with the technology delivery lifecycle and understand what clients need and what our teams are delivering. You may have been hands-on with technology in the past. This role requires the successful candidate to possess the rare mix of pre-sales engagement and a product / solution mindset within a technology landscape.

  • Work closely with Sales & delivery teams to qualify opportunities and shape pursuit strategies, collaborating with subject matter experts across the business to assemble winning approaches to delivery
  • Lead discovery workshops and design sprints with prospective clients to understand their challenges and opportunities
  • Lead solution design and creating approaches to delivery that demonstrate technical credibility and delivery confidence
  • Capture client needs through pre-sales engagement and translate into compelling technical solutions that align with their strategic objectives and deliver value
  • Build trusted relationships with clients as a technical advisor during pre-sales phases
  • Produce proposals for presentation and articulate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences, from technical teams to C-suite executives
  • Support and guide a customer solution through successful transition and handover from pre-sales to actively delivery of services.
  • Lead the technical response for bids and tenders, crafting winning narratives that showcase our capabilities and align with evaluation criteria and client requirements
  • Utilise your experience to bring methodology and approach into bid responses that demonstrate our understanding of complex delivery challenges
  • Develop case studies and capability statements that position our propositions effectively
  • Collaborate with commercial and delivery teams to create competitive, deliverable proposals
  • Work with the Delivery team to design GTM delivery strategies and approaches for complex technology projects
  • Contribute to the evolution of our service propositions based on market needs and delivery insights
  • Leverage frontier AI models and agentic coding practices to accelerate and support solution design and prototyping
  • Stay ahead of emerging technologies and methodologies, particularly AI-driven approaches to delivery

Experience Required

  • Customer Consultative Solution Design: Demonstrable experience of working in a highly visible customer facing role, translating business requirements into end-to-end technical solutions for complex, multi-stakeholder environments. Broad understanding across cloud platforms, enterprise architectures, integration approaches, modern software delivery and legacy migration projects.
  • Public sector delivery experience: Proven track record involved in the delivery of technology projects in UK public sector, with deep understanding of government digital standards (Technology Code of Practice / Service Standard) and procurement
  • Technology delivery experience: Experience working within agile delivery frameworks and practices, working knowledge of user-centred design principles and how they integrate with technical delivery.
  • Bid and tender writing: Strong track record of writing winning technical responses for competitive procurements
  • Workshop facilitation: Skilled at curating and running design sprints, discovery / requirements workshops and collaborative sessions with clients and 3rd parties
  • Cross-functional collaboration: Proven ability to work effectively across commercial, technical and delivery teams to represent all interests while meeting customer requirements.
  • Previous experience of working across a broad range of business sectors covering both the public and private sectors.
  • Experience with specific government frameworks (e.g., G-Cloud, DOS, CCS frameworks)
  • Practical experience using frontier AI models for prototype and solution design, documentation and code generation. Understanding of agentic coding practices and how AI can accelerate delivery.
  • Background in enterprise or solution architecture roles
  • Experience in formal consultancy or professional services environments
  • Understanding of testing and quality assurance approaches
  • Knowledge of accessibility and inclusive design standards
  • Professional certifications (e.g., TOGAF, AWS/Azure/GCP architecture, Agile)

Renumeration

  • Base Salary up to £90K, with OTE of £110-120K

This role requires the successful candidate to be based in Bristol or the South West. Applicants must already be living in the region or have completed relocation before submitting an application.
