The Role: We are looking for an experienced Business Analyst to join a UK Government / GDS-aligned programme. This role sits within a fast-paced agile delivery environment and involves contributing to business analysis activities across multiple workstreams. You will support delivery by gathering and analysing requirements, working with stakeholders to ensure clarity and alignment, and contributing to outcomes in line with GDS standards and public sector best practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead business analysis activities across complex government digital programmes
- Elicit, analyse, and document business requirements, user needs, and functional specifications
- Work closely with Product Managers, Delivery Managers, Architects, and Engineering teams
- Facilitate workshops, stakeholder interviews, and decision-making sessions at senior levels
- Own and manage backlogs, user stories, and acceptance criteria to a high standard
- Produce artefacts including process maps, service blueprints, and business cases
- Ensure all deliverables align with GDS service standards and agile methodologies
- Support discovery, alpha, beta, and live phases of delivery
- Provide leadership and mentorship to junior Business Analysts
- Act as a key point of contact for stakeholders, ensuring clear communication and alignment
Required Experience
- Extensive experience as a Business Analyst within UK Government / Public Sector environments
- Strong, practical experience working within GDS frameworks and standards
