The Bid Manager is a Mid-level role based within the Managed Professional Services (MPS) division of RedRock Consulting. The Division delivers professional services within the technology space to our customers. Our customers are largely within the UK public & private sectors. We build teams to either deliver a complete technology outcome or blend with a customer team to enable a joint delivery.

We are looking for a motivated, autonomous and experienced Bid Manager to report into our Chief Digital Officer (CDO). The CDO is accountable for RedRockā€™s digital and growth strategy as well as supporting the design and build of all services.

The Bid Manager is responsible for the end to end process of developing proposals and responding to tenders. Collaborating with Account Managers and Client Directors you will own and manage frameworks and portal access, support the bid qualification process, lead on and contribute to proposal content creation, be responsible for and iterate our content library and undertake analysis to ensure our approach is constantly improved. Bid managers are RedRockā€™s custodians of quality output ensuring we maintain high standards at all times. You will actively work with colleagues across the business including sales leads, delivery managers, technical leads and the Chief Digital, Technology and Commercial Officers. The role demands excellent written and communication skills; the successful candidate will need to possess the rare mix of understanding how to articulate business value in a technology world, creative thinking, stakeholder management and project management skills.

This role is an exciting opportunity for someone with a significant amount of experience in bid ownership, production & writing. Our ability to win new business hinges on high quality bid responses that deliver on the outlined requirements and this role will take full ownership of bid production in our business.

Principal duties and responsibilities

Bid Management

Take responsibility for the end-to-end bid process and act as the primary touch point for all aspects of the bid, including planning, production, review and submission of bid responses within timelines.

Manage all bid portals and keep track of all bids coming in across all sources.

Follow governance and procedures for an internal bid production process, including timeline management, content reviews, quality checks and formal sign off stages.

Manage the Bid qualification process, ensuring everyone applies a rigorous and efficient process to all opportunities.

Develop content for bid responses based on information gathered from subject matter experts, conveying complex messages with clarity and simplicity.

Review and edit bid submissions to ensure compliance to all requirements, and to ensure win theme messaging is clear.

Create, author, edit, and design presentation/pitch content (ā€œdecksā€) and coach bid presenters on script and narrative to convey RedRockā€™s proposed approach aligned to the requirement. Design elements will be supported by our in-house Marketing Executive.

Align bid responses to the RedRock Brand Guidelines and align tone of voice and language to the RedRock culture and values.

Support the creation of the commercial model in relation to a specific bid or framework response and align to guidance provided from the customer.

Manage the timeline for the bid response including ensuring sufficient time for reviews, updates and approvals.

Collate bid responses and capture feedback from both successful and unsuccessful bids and actively utilise the feedback to continuously improve our bid process and bid responses to result in more successful bids.

Support case study production alongside our business development, delivery, and marketing teams.

Must Have Experience

Minimum 5 years professional experience in leading bid/tender/RFP production

Able to manage the production of evidence-based bid responses to complex solutions that both address the requirements and are compelling to the intended audience

Experience of public sector procurements

Demonstrable track record in successfully managing the production of bid responses that were taken through to contract award stage

Experience in working within a bid capacity for businesses delivering IT Services

Able to build relationships with key stakeholders across a variety of disciplines and levels in an organisation

Exceptional written and communication skills

Effective project management skills & experience

Skilled in preparing documents in Microsoft Word & PowerPoint that are to an extremely high standard and follow corporate brand guidelines

Desirable Experience

Experience of bid management specifically for complex IT solutions delivered through multi discipline teams

Experience working with opportunities in the UK government Digital & Data departments including familiarity with Government Digital Service Standards and delivery lifecycles

Experience of working across a broad range of business sectors covering both the public and private sectors

Experience of working with marketing and design teams to create powerful visual representations of words to convey complex information in a simple way

Awareness of commercial proposals and contracts

Renumeration

Base salary band Ā£45-55k

Performance related bonus directly linked to successfully awarded new business that the Bid Manager supports.

Primary Office: RedRock HQ, Clifton, Bristol

Secondary Location(s): Work from home

Travel Requirement: Approx 25%, as needed only. For example, an offsite meeting / visiting a partner organisation where weā€™re collaborating on a bid.

RedRockā€™s office is in Clifton, Bristol and we have a Working Arrangements Policy in place to help us bring our team together as much as possible. As such, we operate Monday & Thursday ā€œall handsā€ days where the whole team come into the office. For local employees (within 10 miles), we require 4 days in the office, 1 from home (not withstanding on site client commitments). We will review all applications but we would prefer applicants to be located in Bristol or surrounding areas.
